| In class 3 at Felton
First School the children reportedly learned new words such as
"bio-degradable" and "non-bio-degradable"Further supporting this
evidence the children were encouraged to learn the 3 Rs
Re-use, Reduce and
Recycle! After a visit to a local
waste management site, the children experienced first hand what
happens to our rubbish. |
Miss Pell reported to
our newspaper how her class carried out a practical experiment
to see how different materials degrade over time. "They buried
plastic, cardboard and an orange and we checked the results
after 8 weeksThe cardboard box had disintegrated the most." |
After reading "The
Iron Man" by Ted Hughes, the children worked in small groups to
make sculptures of the protagonist, reusing different materials
such as cereal boxes, newspapers and plastic milk bottles.
At Felton First School we agree
